Our Story
CyberGuardianX was founded by security practitioners with real-world experience across CDN providers, global banks, and bot detection platforms — not consultants who learned from textbooks.
Founder

Diego Cuesta
Founder & Principal Architect
Diego Cuesta has spent nearly two decades solving security problems at every layer of the stack — from endpoint malware analysis to cloud-scale bot mitigation for some of the world's largest financial institutions.
Most recently, Diego served as a Security Architect at a leading global CDN and cloud security provider, where he was the primary security point of contact for top-tier banking and payment processing clients. His work involved scoping, designing, and deploying WAF, bot management, and DDoS protection solutions, as well as creating custom detection rules, performing threat analysis, and managing emergency security integrations. Before that, Diego worked as a Senior Security Engineer at a top-10 global bank, where he led the onboarding of enterprise services onto Akamai's Web Application Firewall platform — giving him a uniquely practical understanding of what it takes to integrate security solutions into complex, regulated environments.
Diego also served as a Senior Bot Analyst at a leading CAPTCHA and human verification provider, where he analysed automated threats at scale and developed strategies for distinguishing legitimate users from sophisticated bot traffic. This combination of vendor-side, enterprise-side, and analyst-side experience is what sets CyberGuardianX apart.
Earlier in his career, Diego held technical roles at a major enterprise antivirus vendor and a leading proxy and firewall manufacturer. He also ran his own IT and security consultancy, delivering network and systems projects for companies across London and Spain.
Diego maintains a strong focus on security automation and AI-assisted workflows. He is fluent in English, Spanish, and French, and is based in Spain, serving clients across Europe and the UK.
The Team

Darika A.
Bot Analyst & Threat Analyst
Darika A. has spent over a decade defending enterprise networks — first as an infrastructure security specialist and later as a dedicated bot and threat analyst. Her career has been defined by hands-on operational work: detecting intrusions, dissecting automated attacks, and building the detection logic that keeps malicious traffic out.
Darika built her foundation at a leading managed security services provider (MSSP), where she was responsible for monitoring and defending network infrastructure across a diverse portfolio of enterprise clients. Her day-to-day work involved firewall and IDS/IPS management, network traffic analysis, threat hunting, and incident triage — often across multiple industry verticals simultaneously. This MSSP environment gave her a breadth of exposure that few single-employer roles can match, requiring her to adapt quickly to different network architectures, security stacks, and threat profiles.
Over time, Darika developed a particular focus on automated threats — credential stuffing campaigns, scraping operations, and distributed bot networks that target web applications at scale. She has extensive experience analysing bot traffic patterns, distinguishing sophisticated automated attacks from legitimate user behaviour, and tuning detection systems to reduce false positives without sacrificing coverage. Her network security background gives her a distinctive edge in this work: she understands not just how bots behave at the application layer, but how they move through infrastructure, rotate IPs, and exploit network-level blind spots.
At CyberGuardianX, Darika leads bot traffic analysis and threat intelligence for corporate engagements, working closely with the team on WAF tuning, bot mitigation strategy, and post-incident threat assessments. She also contributes to the home user practice, helping fraud victims understand how their accounts were compromised and what network-level indicators to watch for.
Darika holds multiple industry certifications spanning network security and threat analysis, and is fluent in English, Spanish, and Russian — enabling her to support CyberGuardianX's clients across European and international markets.

Karim H.
Cloud Security Engineer
Karim H. has spent over a decade at the intersection of cloud infrastructure and security — designing secure architectures, remediating misconfigurations, and helping organisations navigate the complexity of multi-cloud environments. He also has 4 years of experience in Python, which he applies to security automation and internal tooling.
Karim spent several years as a Cloud Security Architect at a major European SaaS provider, where he was responsible for the security posture of a platform serving millions of users across the EU. His work included designing IAM frameworks, implementing network segmentation across hybrid cloud environments, building automated compliance monitoring pipelines, and leading the security workstream for the company's SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certifications. He worked closely with DevOps and platform engineering teams to embed security into CI/CD workflows, shifting detection and enforcement as far left as possible without slowing delivery.
Prior to that, Karim worked as a Cloud Security Consultant at a global professional services firm, where he delivered security assessments, architecture reviews, and remediation programmes for clients across financial services, healthcare, and retail. This client-facing consulting role gave him experience working with a wide range of cloud maturity levels — from startups running everything in a single AWS account to multinational enterprises managing hundreds of accounts across multiple providers. He became particularly skilled at translating complex cloud security risks into language that non-technical stakeholders and board-level audiences could act on.
Earlier in his career, Karim worked as a systems engineer at a European telecommunications company, where he managed virtualised infrastructure and first developed his interest in cloud-native security. This infrastructure background gives him a practical understanding of what sits beneath the cloud abstraction layer — networking, storage, compute, and the misconfigurations that arise when traditional infrastructure thinking meets cloud-native design.
At CyberGuardianX, Karim leads cloud security architecture engagements, helping corporate clients design secure cloud environments, audit existing configurations, and implement governance frameworks across AWS, Azure, and GCP. He also supports the team's WAF and bot mitigation work by ensuring that cloud-level network controls, logging, and traffic routing are properly configured to complement application-layer defences.
Karim holds AWS Security Specialty and CCSP certifications, along with additional vendor credentials in Azure and GCP security. He is fluent in English, French, and Arabic — supporting CyberGuardianX's growing client base across Western Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East.

Pietro B.
Security Engineer
Pietro Buono is a Security Engineer whose career has been shaped by one consistent challenge: keeping high-value, high-traffic applications safe from automated attacks and fraud at scale.
Pietro's core strength lies in bot management and advanced fingerprinting analysis — the detailed, signal-level work of distinguishing sophisticated automated threats from legitimate users. He has extensive experience building and tuning detection logic based on browser fingerprints, behavioural signals, and traffic patterns, and understands the arms race between bot operators and defenders from the inside. This expertise extends naturally into fraud prevention, where he has worked on identifying and disrupting credential stuffing campaigns, account takeover attempts, and payment fraud across large transactional platforms.
Alongside his bot and fraud focus, Pietro has a strong operational background in WAF management, CAPTCHA integration, incident response, and infrastructure security. He understands how application-layer defences need to work in concert with network and infrastructure controls, and takes a practical, results-driven approach to security — focused on what actually stops attacks rather than what looks good in a report.
Pietro has applied these skills across some of the most critical and high-demand sectors in the industry. He has worked with major oil and energy companies, where operational continuity and infrastructure resilience are paramount. He has delivered security solutions for leading banking institutions, where regulatory scrutiny and the volume of automated attacks create uniquely complex challenges. And he has supported large-scale healthcare providers, where the sensitivity of patient data demands rigorous access controls and threat detection.
On the cloud side, Pietro has hands-on experience with both Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform. He has worked on secure cloud architectures, identity and access management frameworks, and cloud-native threat detection — always with an emphasis on scalability and resilience. His ability to bridge application security and cloud infrastructure makes him a versatile asset across CyberGuardianX's corporate engagements.
At CyberGuardianX, Pietro works across bot mitigation, WAF deployment, and CAPTCHA integration for corporate clients, bringing his cross-sector experience to help organisations understand their specific threat landscape and implement defences that hold up under real-world attack conditions.
